Strawdog is currently seeking to increase its network of freelance contract artists, in preparation for upcoming projects, initially on a contract basis. We would like to hear from recent graduates and experienced candidates alike to foster new talent and forge lasting working relationships.

We are looking for artists with a broad range of skills covering 2D and 3D asset creation. You will have a demonstrable passion for visual quality and a proven ability to create intuitive and engaging content and designs and an understanding of mobile capabilities. You may currently specialise in a particular field, but are eager to learn new skills/software. Ideally, you are already established as a freelance artist and are used to the ebb and flow of contract work. Above all, you are enthusiastic about making our games great and constantly seek to push the limits of what can be achieved.

GAME DESIGNER

We are currently looking to expand our studio with a GAME DESIGNER position. Initially on a part-time/contract basis, which could lead to a permanent role. It is a role with a broad range and would suit the right candidate from minor experience to senior skills.

You will be a valued member of the Design team reporting to the Producer, closely involved with all aspects of game development.

The right candidate will be highly creative and passionate about games. Have a proven track record working in a Game Design role covering the full range of development, from initial research, through concept and prototyping and into full production and live service.

You will be excellent at creating and maintaining high quality game design documents, and equally adept at working with numbers, spread sheets and iteratively balancing game play experiences.

You will be self-motivated, and work as part of a team to resolve design and gameplay issues, suggest new ideas, and create placeholder content. It’s a hands-on role that needs a can-do attitude.

Applications to jobs@strawdogstudios.com should contain a CV and covering letter and quote – REF: #N25  in the subject area of the email.

Further information

With these vacancies, raw talent and proven development skills are just as important as qualifications. Demo materials and/or examples of previous work will be required for each role.

We often provide short tests for our candidates, which we use to evaluate problem solving abilities. In some key positions we may also ask candidates to complete a DISC questionnaire to assist us with our selection process. Don’t be put off though – these are simple proven methods to help build great teams.

For all enquiries, please send a cover letter and CV, along with any links to online portfolios or games you have made to jobs@strawdogstudios.com.
